Since running the Coniston Marathon (for a third time) in July I’d really lost my appetite for running. Not great news considering the job ahead of us in October. I wish I could say it was a comedown from a glorious running experience which could never be matched – but that would be a load of bollocks. It was most likely due to the brutal, searing heat of an uncommonly glorious British summer. Not ideal conditions for us North of the border.*
So after keeping busy with heaps of cycling and swimming (anything but running!), I’ve returned to my running club for the first time in ages. And, I’m glad to say, I’ve got my mojo back. I actually enjoyed being out again for a wee hill session rather than hating every second of it.
October’s a long was off, or so it seems, but I’m feeling a touch elated tonight. Lets hope it lasts 🙂
* Fortunately it didn’t stop Andy Murray winning Wimbledon that day
It’s getting CLOSER!!! Barry’s nerves are starting to kick in, mine are in overdrive, how will we all survive until October?! xxx
